About Keep Her Safe

Working to stop campus sexual assault by making it a consumer issue.

When parents spend a range of $50,000 to more than $250,000 for a 4-year degree, they have some purchasing power. Keep Her Safe helps harness this leverage to press college and university administrators to do more to prevent campus sexual assault.

Keep Her Safe provides processes and support to help parents and students assess and institutions’ attitudes about sexual assault and its systems for keeping students safe from sexual assault. Using the Keep Her Safe Guide, parents and students are encourage to express their concerns to admissions offices and, as consumers, make some specific requests of the schools they are considering.

We also directly approach the highest administrative levels including school presidents, deans, admissions, boards of trustees, and alumni boards to advocate for campuses where students are safe from sexual violence.

With these approaches, Keep Her Safe highlights a marketplace demand for campuses where students are safe from sexual assault. We seek to continuously increase demand, make it more evident to all institutions of higher learning, and pressure the schools to create and implement effective sexual assault prevention programs.

When we see a sidebar titled, “Safest Campuses for Women” in the U.S. News and World Report College Ranking issue, we’ll know we’re getting somewhere.
